Genk missed out on European tournaments last summer. However, they had a decent season in Belgium and finished second, earning their return to the Champions League. They last played in the group stage four years ago. Two years ago, they were eliminated in the qualifiers by Shakhtar Donetsk. After a 1-1 draw as guests against Servette last week, they started the new season in Belgium convincingly with a 4-0 victory over RWD Molenbeek.
It's been over 20 years since Servette last participated in the Champions League. They finished second in Switzerland and are now making their return to the tournament. Last year, they played in the Conference League but were immediately eliminated by Molde. On Saturday, they started the new season in the Swiss league with a 2-2 draw at home against Zurich.
